Born and raised in Washington D.C., she moved to Paris in 1972 to join the local office of KPMG Peat Marwick, where she served clients for twenty years in matters concerning U.S., French and international taxation. Partner in that firm from 1986 through 1992, Mrs. Simonard established her own practice in 1993, the year she was admitted to the Paris bar. She and her professional staff are available to respond to both routine and complex international tax questions and will work directly with the client or as a member of a team of advisors, as desired.

Mrs. Simonard's experience includes close involvement with the negotiations leading to the favorable Income and Estate Tax Treaties between the United States and France and the U.S.-French Social Security Totalization Agreement. She has twice personally testified on legislative tax matters to the U.S. Congress, authored numerous tax articles and spoken at countless conferences and seminars on international tax matters. She also prepared a major study for the European Commission on the effects of taxation and social security on executive mobility within the European Union. She is a leader of the American community in Paris, and has served as president of several Franco-American organizations, through which she continues to devote extensive time and effort towards improving the taxation of Americans resident in France.
